I have ‘raised myself’ to believe in a certain school-of-thoughts that was representative of no one and nothing around me. You hear me right when I use the unnatural phrase ‘raise myself’ because it is brutally honest as from a very early age most of my opinions barely held any resemblance to my surroundings and most importantly – my teachers. And very early on too, I had realised that despite my very radical, apparently leftist attitude, I entertained some very uncomfortably- conservative perspectives towards life.
